The oldest Garden, Park and Heritage site in South Africa. It was originally created in 1650 reason being to grow and produce fresh food to fill up the ships rounding the cape. The Garden is a home to overwhelming famous squirrels, you can purchase a bag of nuts to feed them, one thing kids love is feeding squirrels. The food is to die for as well, they serve traditional Capetonian food along with standard lunch, the food is simple but delicious. The Garden is also a home to South African National Gallery. it holds temporary exhibitions by some of the country’s top artists & occasional international artists too.
