Soon after pick up at your accommodation between 8:30 and 9:30am we will take a scenic drive on our full day Cape Winelands shared day tour from Cape Town to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

DeMorgenzon Winery
Our first stop for the day will be at the unique DeMorgenzon wine estate (DMZ) in Stellenbosch. DMZ produces award-winning Chardonnay and has received awards for some of the best Chardonnay produced in the entire world. Situated 200 to 400m above sea level, DMZ vistas embrace Cape Town, Table Mountain, Cape Point, Cape Hangklip and Simonsberg. At DMZ you will find musical speakers strategically placed throughout the vineyards. DMZ believe that the vines listen to the classical music being played to produce extraordinary grapes.

Stellenbosch
After our first wine tasting, we continue to take a Stellenbosch town orientation tour. Home to over 200 award-winning wine estates, Stellenbosch is also the second oldest town in South Africa. Your tour guide/driver will share stories about the Dutch-style buildings/monumental houses as well as the world famous Stellenbosch University. Stellenbosch University is set amongst the Boland Mountains, provides a unique academic environment for students and enrolls more than 30000 students per annum.

Marianne Wine Estate
The tour leads us to Marianne Wine Estate. Here we will enjoy a biltong (dried meat) and wine tasting. Different wines will be paired with different Biltongs providing unique flavours on the palate.

Marianne Wine Estate produces elaborate fine, hand crafted wines with a French Bordeaux style with a touch of South Africa. In particular, the Marianne Floreal 2010 received a Michael Angelo: Single Gold red wine with aromas of dried black fruits, hints of black pepper corns and floral tones. Soft and well-structured on the palate. Floreal wine was hand-picked by Chef Gordon Ramsay for former president Nelson Mandela's 91st Birthday celebration.

Franschhoek
Take a drive to the Food and Wine Capital of South Africa which is Franschhoek. Your tour guide/driver will share stories about the French Huguenots and take a photo with the French Huguenots monument. Here you can take up the option to enjoy lunch at your own expense.

Fairview Wine and Cheese
Continuing along this route, we stop at Fairview Wine and Cheese estate in Paarl winelands. Here you can choose between 3 wine ranges in their tasting room as well as various cheese tasting in the Deli. Take the opportunity to purchase not only their wines but also their unique cheese offerings.

Groot Drakenstein Prison
Departing from Fairview wine estate, we arrive at Groot Drakenstein Prison - formerly Victor Verster prison. Here we will take a unique photo with the monument of former president Nelson Mandela. (Please note that we are not allowed to enter into the prison.) This is where Nelson Mandela spent his last 2 years of his 27 year imprisonment as a political prisoner.
