What To Expect

Hermanus
Eight ‘o clock hotel pick-up.

Are you ready for a stunning and scenic drive to Hermanus? We will pass through Somerset West, and over Sir Lowry’s Pass, which offers amazing views over the valley. On the way, it is not rare to see a troop of baboons walking alongside the road. Keep an eye out for them! You might even spot a baby baboon clinging to its mother’s back.

Arrival
Fishing town and popular tourist destination, Hermanus is known for having a wealth of whales and great white sharks. Once we have arrived, all passengers will be fitted with comfortable life jackets, as well as waterproof jackets. After a brief talk explaining safety and what to look out for, it is full speed ahead! Board the boat and prepare to encounter these majestic creatures in their South African waters.

The Boat Trip
We will make our way through the waves for about two to two and a half hours, depending on how quickly you can spot the whales. Lucky passengers may very well encounter all of the Marine Big 5 on this trip. This includes the African Penguin, Cape Fur Seal, dolphins and of course, whales. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for the great white shark. (Price excluding boat trip)

After an incredible experience, we will regain our strength by stopping for lunch. How can you not have lunchtime fish, in a fishing town?

Upon arrival in the town centre, we will take a lovely walk along the coast cliffs and stop for pictures. You will definitely want to show this view off to your friends and family back home. Various shops are available. You can find anything from souvenirs in the marketplace, to ice cream and lattes in cute corner cafes.
