What To Expect

Jordan Wine Estate
Embark on an unforgettable tour to Cape town's wine country region. Depending on your pick up location in relation to Stellenbosch town, this epic journey will most likely begin with a visit to the over 300 year old Jordan Wine estate. Graced by modern buildings, Jordan wine estate creates a bold fusion of old and new. The fermented barrels were made according to the Classic burgundy methods and separate barrel cellars are designed for Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz were the wine matures and undergo malolactic fermentation in Bordeaux shaped barrels.

Stellenbosch
Before venturing into the second wine experience venue, an exploration of the historic town of Stellenbosch will be on the cards. Best explored on foot, the quaint and compressed town of Stellenbosch gives one a nostalgic sense of a bygone era. Endemic Cape Dutch style buildings flows parallel to the leafy streets and over a 150 year old water furrows. Old and new shops trade in art, antiques, jewelry and carved wood.

Lanzerac Wine Estate
After the quick exploration of Stellenbosch town, the next stop will be at Lanzerac wine estate. Built on a 200 hectares farm, the estate is a mixture of a wine cellar, body spa, fine restaurant, farm shop and a splendid hotel. Lanzerac wine estate were also the first farm to bottle Pinotage, a South African wine made from the only South African grape variety and do continue to make award winning wines. Guest will have the pleasure to taste a set of wine from the farm's tier of 3 different ranges.

Delaire Graff Estate
From Lanzerac, the journey will go via the hilly and winding Helshoogte pass to the jewel of the winelands, Delaire graff wine estate. A gem of an estate sitting on the eastern slops of the Boatmansekop mountain and facing the rugged Drakensberg mountains. Unlike the nostalgic Lanzerac wine estate of the 1690s,Delaire graff combines modern buildings and stunning contemporary art pieces hanging on the walls. A jewelry shop within the the estate rubs shoulders with world class Delaire graff restaurant and the Asian cuisine Indoschine restaurant. Here guest will be treated with an hour and a half to have lunch at own expense before the journey takes a turn for another different experience.

Franschhoek
After lunch, the journey will take us via the historic town of Pniel to the one street town of Franschhoek. A great many farmers hailing from France in the 1680s were granted land here to grow vineyards and thus the town became known as Franschhoek and meaning the French's corner. Surrounded by mountains and manicured vineyards on all sides, Franschhoek gives one a beautiful co-relation of nature and man's work. The beautifully done Leeu estate consisting of art galleries, hotel and restaurants leaves one with a silent cry of wanting to stay here for much longer. Should guest be willing to jump off the vehicle and explore the shops, this town would not disappoint. Same as in Stellenbosch, here one may find art stores, jewelry stores, fine leather stores, clothing stores or even fine chocolate factories!

Mont Rochelle
The last wine experience venue before heading back to Cape town would be at the Richard Branson owned Mont Rochelle estate. Cultivating in various varieties from red to whites, an excellent range to choose from will be offered.

Groot Drakenstein Prison
This is were Nelson Mandela made his famous long walk to freedom for the last time when he was released from prison on the 11th of February 1990 after 27 years of imprisonment. You will have an opportunity to stop by and take pictures with the lifetime sized bronze statue of this great man with his fist clenched into the air.
