Come and experience one of the most popular and unique activities the Mother City has to offer. The Ocean Experiences team are only too keen to share the beauty of the ocean and its most playful mammals with you as well as the beauty of the Cape Town Atlantic Coastline. On our seal snorkeling experience, you will not only learn about the Cape fur seals habits, but you will also get to experience their friendly nature first hand. The tour includes a picturesque drive from the V&A Waterfront past all the well know sites of the Cape including Lions head and the 12 Apostles on the way to one of the biggest seal colonies found on the Atlantic seaboard. On our seal snorkeling trips, you also have the chance to see Dolphins, Whales, Penguins, Sun Fish and much more.

What To Expect

Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

When you arrive at the dive centre you will be met by the friendly OceanX crew, followed by the completion of paperwork. Once everyone is ready the experience starts with an informative safety and trips briefing. After the briefing you will try on all of your snorkelling gear. You will don your life jackets and head to the boat. Enjoy a 30-40min boat ride along the coastline with stunning views of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles mountain range. On the way to one of Cape Town's Cape Fur seal colony there is a chance of spotting marine life such as whales, dolphins, penguins and even the allusive sunfish. Upon arrival at a site you will be met by the seasoned seal colony of various ages. Once the boat is secured its time to get kitted, and to jump into the waters to enjoy 30 - 40min snorkeling experience with the seals. Get back onto the boat and enjoy a hot cup of hot chocolate, water and biscuits and relax whilst enjoying the views before heading back to the V&A Waterfront.
